maternity shoot weekend

I had the privilege of shooting two maternity sessions this weekend with two amazing couples. We had a great time of getting creative with lighting, poses, outfit picks and overall capturing the love of two parents for this life they are bringing into the world. I can't wait to go through the images and deliver the final product to each couple. I'll also be updating my website soon with additional pictures of beautiful growing bellies. AWESOME weekend!

Michael | June Session

Earlier this week I took Michael on an impromptu photo session, as the weather was amazing and I thought it'd be fun to see what kind of shots we could get. Little did we know that it seemed to be "field trip day" for all of the local school children. I thought we got some great pictures, which I have added to my website and a few of them are posted below. Can't wait to get out more this summer and see what the local area has to offer. I feel like every year I tell myself that I need to explore our beautiful state, yet it seems like times passes quickly and I'm left repeating this same sentence to myself year after year. I recently received my Seattle Lonely Planet Book in the mail and honestly, can't wait to get to it!

day trip | Canada

I spent the day with my dear friends Katie and Joanna as we decided to drive to White Rock in Canada for a lovely day of boarder crossings, delicious dining & beach walking. Katie's birthday was on Friday, so we had a celebration lunch overlooking the water and finished the afternoon with a treat at a trendy little cupcake shop. The weather was spectacular and the views were stunning.

the BIG day

It is the evening before Steph & Nick's wedding and I'm in preparation mode. Of course I'm doing my OCD thing of checking and rechecking batteries, digital media cards, photog must take lists/ timelines, outfit ironed, lenses, flashes... etc etc. It has been an amazing week in Chicago, minus a few gloomy days of rain and fog. The weather is supposed to be wonderful tomorrow and I know we're all looking forward to a little sunshine. Today we had an afternoon of tea and laughter with the bride before heading to rehearsal at the church, followed up with a delicious dinner. We're all looking forward to tomorrow, knowing that it is going to be such a great day! More to follow...

Cubs Fans

Yesterday was spent catching the blue line to the red line for an arrival destination of Wrigley Field. Upon entering the train, a sea of red and blue engulfed us as jerseys, jackets, hats, t-shirts and the like became the norm. Feeling slightly out of place, we made a quick stop into a few shops around the field to purchase a CUBS sweatshirt. Now, feeling like a member of the fan club we found our seats and began cheering with the rest of the crowd. It was so great to experience my first Cubs game at this historic location.
